DIVING IN: Procter & Gamble’s prestige beauty products division will enter the premium-priced men’s skin care arena this fall with a Hugo Boss treatment collection called Boss Skin. The line will make its debut in September in Germany, France, the U.K. and Scandinavia and is expected to roll out to the rest of the world over the next year.

GIVAUDAN MOVES: Swiss fragrance supplier Givaudan has appointed two executives to its New York Fine Fragrance Creative Center.

David O’Halloran was named director of the center’s cosmetics and applications laboratory. O’Halloran is responsible for new technologies for fine fragrance and applications as well as technical support. His main area of expertise is product formulation for cosmetics and he is a member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. He most recently worked as director of research and development at Nice-Pak Products.

Additionally, Givaudan named Heidi Richardson senior marketing manager. She was most recently senior marketing manager for Coty’s Healing Garden brand. In her new post, Richardson will develop market strategies and analyze market trends for clients such as Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Calvin Klein Cosmetics, Liz Claiborne, Riviera Concepts and Mary Kay.

DYNAMIC DECORATION: The Clarins clan just got bigger. The French beauty brand awarded its ninth annual Prix de la Femme la Plus Dynamisante (Prize for the Most Dynamic Woman) two weeks ago to Laurence Ligier, for her work with the Association Cameleon. Through this charity organization, Ligier helps physically and sexually abused girls in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Clarins awarded Ligier a cash sum to help with her work and continues to financially support previous years’ laureates.

STILA ON QVC: On Sunday morning, makeup artist brand Stila will make its QVC debut, joining Prescriptives as the second Estee Lauder Cos. brand to develop a relationship with the cable shopping channel. For one hour starting at 11 a.m., Stila will present six offerings, including signature products such as the Lip Glaze Trio and Convertible Cheek and Lip Color Compact. In addition, eight of Stila’s bestsellers will be packaged in a $60 Best of Stila Starter Set, an exclusive to QVC.

OPERATION SEPHORA: Sephora recently teamed up with the nonprofit organization Operation Smile for its annual Smile Collection Couture Event, a charity runway show, which was created to raise awareness and funds for the 23-year-old organization. Operation Smile has provided free reconstructive surgery to children and young adults with facial deformities in 25 countries and the U.S. for 23 years. Sephora has been supporting Operation Smile since 2000, when the retailer launched its Operation Smile Lip Baume, which has raised more than $800,000, funding more than 1,100 operations over the years. Committee members for the event included Lauren Bush, Matt Dillon, Amanda Hearst, Molly Sims, Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump.

CAROL’S AWARD: Carol’s Daughter has been named the “Emerging Company of the Year” at the Black Enterprise Awards. Founder Lisa Price accepted the award on behalf of the 12-year-old company. Carol’s Daughter recently signed Jada Pinkett Smith for its first advertising campaign. Pinkett Smith and her husband, Will Smith, along with Shawn Carter — aka Jay-Z — Andrew Farkas, Tommy and Thalia Mottola, Jimmy Iovine, James Lassiter and Steve Stoute are now investors in the company.

FAST FIXES: Skin care brand Natura Bisse has introduced a line of five solution-specific products called Special FX. Including Blemish Focus, an acne spot treatment; Lip Booster, a lip-plumping cream, and Red Diffuse, a product that works to neutralize redness, the line ranges from $44 for Blemish Focus to $52 for Eye Illuminate. The range is available at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York.
