GEMINI STAFFS UP: Gemini Cosmetics Inc., which president and chief executive officer Neil Katz formed via a partnership earlier this year, has appointed four members to its top executive staff.
Sam Endy has been named chief financial officer and treasurer. He was formerly the cfo of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s American Designer Fragrances division. His responsibilities included the cfo post at Guerlain when ADF’s brands were divested by the French giant.
Craig Ahlheim has been appointed Gemini’s vice president of sales following 18 years at Liz Claiborne Cosmetics, where most recently he was regional sales director. Fifteen-year marketing veteran Jacqueline E. Singer has been appointed vice president of marketing at Gemini. She was most recently group marketing director of global fragrances at Coty Beauty U.S. Kristin Spinn has been appointed Gemini’s director of marketing and sales administration. Most recently, Spinn was marketing manager for three years at Liz Claiborne, overseeing three fragrance brands.
Gemini plans to launch a Tommy Bahama men’s and women’s fragrance masterbrand in February under license from the tropical resort apparel label. Gemini will reportedly seek additional, separate projects after focusing on the Tommy Bahama brand for the first year.
SHISEIDO MOVES: Shiseido Cosmetics (America) Ltd. will appoint two executives to its sales staff in support of its Shiseido and Clé de Peau brands on Monday. Linda Ten Eyck will be promoted to senior executive director of retail operations, a new position. She was formerly executive director of sales in the Northeast. Additionally, Veronica McMahan will be appointed to succeed Ten Eyck. McMahan was most recently a regional sales director with Sisley USA. Both will report to Bruce Gephart, senior vice president of sales for the Tokyo-based company’s U.S. subsidiary.
SWEET SPONSORSHIP: Lancôme will sponsor the actual Emmy Awards, but as sponsor of Entertainment Weekly’s Emmy party this Saturday at The Hollywood Athletic Club, Revlon will create a life-size milk-and-dark-chocolate makeup counter complete with lipsticks and nail enamel made of chocolate. Guests will also snack on chocolate squares decorated with swishes of lip and nail color, which will actually be made from raspberry, strawberry and orange sauces. Modern day cigarette girls will be passing out Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipgloss and 95 celebrity VIP guests, including Allison Janney, Cheryl Hines, Paris Hilton and Tori Spelling will receive a black-and-white makeup case filled with the latest products.
