WWD Beauty CEO Summit Set

An added celebrity push will be provided by the star power of Jennifer Aniston, who will be speaking as a co-owner of Living Proof.

The WWD Beauty CEO Summit in May will be driven by the industry’s yin and yang: the leadership of the major players linked with the innovation and vitality of the indie startup brands. The theme of the meeting is metamorphosis.

An added celebrity push will be provided by the star power of Jennifer Aniston, an award-winning actress and producer who will be speaking as a co-owner of Living Proof. She will appear onstage with chief executive officer Jill Beraud.

The summit will get under way on the evening of May 7 at The Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Fla., with the opening keynote address by Frédéric Rozé, president and ceo of L’Oréal Americas and L’Oréal USA. During the next day and a half, ending at noon Friday, there will be a wealth of presentations by Dave Lewis, president of personal care at Unilever; Deb Henretta, group president of global beauty at Procter & Gamble; Cedric Prouvé, group president, international, at the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.; Michele Scannavini, ceo of Coty Inc.; Sheri McCoy, ceo of Avon Products Inc., and Aurelian Lis, general manager, Americas, of Benefit Cosmetics.

There also will be heavyweights from emerging markets, namely Alessandro Carlucci, ceo of Natura Cosméticos SA in Brazil, and Jeonggy Baek, vice chairman of the AmorePacific Group Inc. in South Korea.

Manufacturers of younger brands will include Stephane Siboni and Gilles Kortzagadarian, cofounders and co-ceo’s of Ardency Inn; Ciate’s founder Charlotte Knight; Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi, cofounders of Le Labo Fragrances; Amy Errett, ceo and founder of Madison Reed; Alli Webb, founder of Drybar; Carisa Janes, ceo and founder of Hourglass; Michael Dubin, ceo of DollarShaveClub.com, and Amnon Rodan, chairman of Rodan + Fields.

There also will be a strong contingent of retailers, led by Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, executive director of marketing and business development of Marks & Spencer plc; Shelley Rozenwald, chief beauty adventurer at Hudson’s Bay Company; Shannon Curtin, group vice president and general merchandise manager of beauty and personal care at Walgreens, and Laure Heriard Dubreuil, ceo and cofounder of The Webster Miami.

No small amount of entrepreneurial zeal will be provided by Lynn Tilton, ceo of Patriarch Partners LLC, while Chris Sanderson, ceo of The Future Laboratory, takes a look at what’s coming next.
