Berlin dandies have a new stomping ground. A recently opened salon/boutique in the eastern part of the city offers skin and hair care for men and women, with a few treats on the side. Fine & Dandy The Beauty Department brings Berliners a range of treatments from massages to manicures, using and selling Sassoon products for hair and Wunderkind (from Wolfgang Joop) for skin. Clients can also try on sunglasses from Linda Farrow’s collection of collaborations with designers such as Matthew Williamson, Chaiken and Sophie Kokosalaki. Or they can relax on a vintage modern sofa with some cool design books and browse a select assortment of accessories. Owners Sascha Boritzki and Jeffrey Herget are no strangers to Berlin’s beauty beat: The pair owns and runs three salons in the German capital. But they saw a gap in the concept store/beauty niche market and decided to jump in. Fine & Dandy opened its doors this summer, celebrating with a party during Berlin Fashion Week. True to its British-inspired name, Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas are served with shortbread and complimentary Pimm’s Cup cocktails. The owners plan to expand throughout Berlin, then take Fine & Dandy across Deutschland.
