PARIS — Black Up, the French ethnic makeup-artist brand, will be available in the U.S. starting Dec. 1 via a new Web site, blackupcosmetics.com.

The line includes 13 hues of foundation, 36 eye shadow colors and 26 lipstick shades.

“Black Up cosmetics fills the void that currently exists in the industry, offering women of color high-end cosmetics designed specifically with them in mind,” stated Lionel Durand, managing director of Black Up cosmetics. “Women in America have been ordering our products for years, so we are thrilled to be able to provide a quality solution for their cosmetic needs.”

The brand is carried at 172 French doors and 171 sales points elsewhere in Europe and in Africa.

Black Up made a foray into the U.S. in 2003, when it was launched at Macy’s Herald Square. The line, whose packaging has subsequently been reworked and now includes new products, remained there for a year and a half.
