Founder George Schaeffer remains chief executive officer, while Suzi Weiss-Fischmann will continue as executive vice president and artistic director.
Heffner, formerly president and ceo of rival Creative Nail Design, or CND, will work with Schaeffer to manage day-to-day operations at the company’s North Hollywood, Calif., headquarters. Schaeffer said he also aims to expand the company’s global reach and visibility.
“The nail industry is absolutely booming,” said Schaeffer. “OPI has been experiencing double-digit growth both domestically and internationally. In welcoming John, Suzi and I will be able to increase our focus on growing the brand both from an innovative standpoint and in new markets. We’re not going anywhere; we plan on being at OPI for years to come.”
Heffner spent 14 years at CND and prior to that held sales and marketing roles with Chesebrough-Ponds USA Co. and Procter & Gamble Co.
