After dominating the red carpet and the runway, red lips are de rigueur. “It looks bold and cool and not too much effort is required,” says Lancôme artistic director Gucci Westman, who created cherry lips for Proenza Schouler. Forget connotations of aging, too. Chanel makeup artist Fulvia Farolfi says that during a recent shoot with Gisele, the supermodel went gaga over crimson. “Red lips make a statement,” she says. “ It’s a sign of confidence.”
