Coty Inc. has partnered with Brazilian cosmetics distributor Frajo Internacional in a joint venture to distribute and market Coty’s mass/masstige brands.
The joint venture will expand Coty’s go-to-market capabilities in the region. Coty’s current model uses an existing commercial partnership in Brazil to distribute certain brands through a door-to-door distribution model. Coty also has a distributor representing its Prestige products in the region.
Michele Scannavini, chief executive officer of Coty, noting that Brazil is one of the largest markets in the beauty industry, said, “Frajo is the right partner, sharing our passion for beauty. Together, we look forward to introducing new Coty brands into this key market.”
Frank Lund, Frajo’s founder and ceo, said, “Joining forces with Coty and benefiting from their expertise is an important step in strengthening Frajo’s position as a leading cosmetic distributor in Brazil.”
Frajo has exclusivity for brands such as Revlon, the leading brand in pharmacies; Ferrari, the number one fragrance brand in Brazil; Australian Gold, and Artdeco. The company was founded in 1995 and has a comprehensive sales network with over 8,500 doors in Brazil.
