DALLAS — Stanley Korshak, a designer specialty store here, has been purchased by Crawford Brock, the store’s long-time president and general manager.

Brock bought Stanley Korshak last week for an undisclosed sum from Rosewood Corp., which opened the upscale store in 1986 at the tony Crescent shopping, office and hotel complex, near downtown Dallas, that was designed by Philip Johnson.
The store is a favorite among Dallas’ monied crowd and also attracts a steady stream of celebrities and international shoppers, including Arabian sheiks. At one time Michael Jackson reportedly was enamored with Korshak’s cosmetics department.
Top women’s labels include Armani, Valentino, Emanuel Ungaro, Michael Kors and La Perla. Men’s bestsellers include Kiton, Armani, Belvest and Mocciola. The two-level store also includes a home department, bridal and shoe salons and a popular hair salon with a clientele that includes some of the richest women in Dallas.
“We are proud of our association with the Rosewood Corp. and its commitment to a tradition of excellence,” said Brock on Friday. “However, the opportunity to purchase Stanley Korshak arose at a time when we are the beneficiary of a significant growth in our business and when we are very excited about the phenomenal development of the Dallas Uptown area. I have great faith in this business and the economy of our community.”
Brock said business was ahead and that the store’s concept of luxe merchandise and finely honed customer service continues to pay off. It’s not uncommon for Korshak to fly sales associates to points around the world with trunks of clothing to personally deliver to wealthy clients on vacation or at second homes.
Before joining Stanley Korshak in 1987, Brock was an executive with Neiman Marcus for 12 years, rising to assistant general manager of the Beverly Hills store before relocating to Dallas.
