LONDON — Estée Lauder’s UK division is set to get bigger.
The company’s UK division plans to relocate its headquarters from London’s Mayfair to nearby Fitzrovia as its business expands in the region.
Estée Lauder Cosmetics Limited, an affiliate of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. said Tuesday it plans to move to 1 Fitzroy Place, Mortimer Street, in London’s central Fitzrovia neighborhood, not far from Oxford Circus, by the end of 2015.
An announcement is expected later today.
Lauder said the move marks a “significant investment” in the continuing success of its UK and Ireland business, the second largest market for The Estée Lauder Companies globally.
The new, 144,000 square feet office will bring together London employees and all education facilities, which currently operate from different locations, under one roof. The new location will also include branded retail storefronts at street level.
Chris Good, UK and Ireland president of Lauder, said: “As the business in the UK continues on its growth trajectory, this prestigious new headquarters will provide the perfect base to take the next step in our evolution.”
William P. Lauder, executive chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., called the UK “an important heritage market,” and said the new space would support “our aspirations of continued growth and success in the UK and Ireland.”
Lauder launched in the UK in 1960.
The company said UK retail sales rose more than 12 percent in its fiscal 2014 third quarter.
