NEW YORK — Two of Evelyn Lauder’s passions — photography and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) — came together Wednesday at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street store here.

Lauder, who is senior corporate vice president of the Estée Lauder Cos. and the founder of the BCRF, appeared with Lauder spokeswoman Elizabeth Hurley, to launch “An Eye for Beauty,” a book of photography by Lauder. All proceeds from the book’s sales will benefit the BCRF.
Lauder said the desire to have the public see her nature-related shots “comes from within my soul.”
“This satisfies my creative side and my desire to help raise additional funds for breast cancer research,” she said.
The Bloomingdale’s appearance helped to ring up sales of approximately $7,000. The duo also visited Bergdorf Goodman Tuesday, drawing in about $3,000. Lauder’s book tour will include department stores in Washington D.C., Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago and Boston.
“An Eye for Beauty” (Abrams, $35) will be available in October at bookstores nationwide, and prints of the photographs appearing in the tome are for sale on http://www.guild.com.
