LOS ANGELES — Gap Inc. today announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Inter Parfums Inc. for the design and manufacture of fragrance and personal care products under the Gap and Banana Republic brand names.
The announcement confirmed a report in WWD on Tuesday.
Although the line has not been finalized, potential products include an array from personal fragrance to makeup, bath and body care and home fragrance products.
Gap Inc., which launched personal fragrances in 1994 at its Gap stores, and in 1995 at its Banana Republic stores, is scheduled to debut the lines at Banana Republic in the fall of 2006 and at the Gap in 2007. Inter Parfums will be responsible for product development, formula creation, packaging and manufacturing and Gap Inc. will be handle marketing and selling.
