BRISTOL, Pa. — Jones Apparel Group Inc. has filed a registration statement with the Securities & Exchange Commission for a secondary stock offering of 3.1 million shares.
The shares are to be sold by Sidney Kimmel, chairman; Andrew Grossman, president, and two charitable foundations — the Sidney Kimmel Foundation and the Rena Rowan Foundation. Rowan is executive vice president of design for the company.
The offering is scheduled for early February through an underwriting syndicate managed by Merrill Lynch & Co.
Jones, which originally went public in May 1991 selling 5.6 million shares at $14 a share, saw its stock close on the New York Stock Exchange at $30.375, unchanged from Monday. The firm currently has 26.3 million shares outstanding.
