L’Oréal to Acquire Vogue Makeup

Colombian brand plans expansion in Central America, Ecuador and Peru.

PARIS  L’Oréal has signed a contract to buy Colombia’s Vogue makeup brand.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Vogue is a player in the country’s mass-market color cosmetics business. In 2012, the brand registered consolidated sales of about 30 million euros, or $41.8 million at average exchange for the period.

“Vogue is an important acquisition for L’Oréal Colombia as it strengthens its position in the very competitive makeup category,” stated Alexandre Popoff, L’Oréal’s executive vice president of the Latin America zone. “The brand represents development opportunities outside of Colombia, particularly in Central America, in Ecuador and in Peru.”
