NEW YORK — Saks Fifth Avenue, which has had its fair share of staff turnover over the past year, just lost its top human resources official. Manny Sousa, executive vice president of human resources, has resigned, effective Jan. 6.
“Manny has accepted an exciting opportunity as head of human resources for a large technology company on the West Coast,” according to an internal announcement issued Friday.
Saks Inc., the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue, credited Sousa with strengthening the human resource function. Sousa joined Saks from Invesco, an investment management firm in Atlanta, where he was head of h.r. and a partner. Before that, he worked at Mars Inc., Avon Products and PepsiCo.
There have been other recent departures at Saks Fifth Avenue, including Sue Ann Newberg, vice president and divisional merchandise manager for jewelry and watches, and Elizabeth Preis, formerly vice president of relationship marketing. The company just named Andree Corroon, formerly of Christie’s International, as vice president of public relations.
