Shiseido Lifts FY Outlook

The company said it will release better-than-expected full-year numbers next week.

TOKYO Shiseido Co. Ltd. said Thursday it will release better-than-expected full-year numbers next week.

The Japanese beauty giant said it has raised its outlook for the fiscal year ended March 31, due to recent trends in the company’s business performance.
 
Shiseido said it has raised its full-year net profit forecast to 26 billion yen, or $259.74 million at average exchange rates for the period. This is up from a previous forecast of 19 billion yen, or $189.81 million.
 
The company said it now expects yearly operating profit to come in at 49.5 billion yen, or $494.51 million. Its previous forecast was for 42 billion yen, or $419.58 million.
 
Shiseido also lifted its sales guidance for the year. It now predicts net sales of 762 billion yen, or $7.61 billion. The company’s earlier forecast was for 750 billion yen, or $7.49 billion, in sales.
 
Japan’s largest cosmetics company plans to release its full financial results for the fiscal year next Friday.
