NEW YORK – Urban Outfitters, Inc. posted deflated second-quarter earnings today, hurt by rising fixed store occupancy expenses.

For the three months ended July 31, net income fell to $25.7 million, or 15 cents per share, from $30.6 million, or 18 cents per share last year.

Earlier this week the company reported sales of $285.8 6 million, an increase of 13 percent, and a 7 percent overall decrease in same-store sales for their Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and Free People chains.
