When it comes to fine fragrance, Italy is the rising capital of the world. An array of designers are launching new scents for spring, ranging from the super sexy (Versace) to the appealingly individualistic (Marni). No matter the ethos of the house, Italian brands are finding a willing customer base. “As Italian designer houses have become more popular, the fragrances are a natural extension of that popularity,” reasons Howard Kreitzman, Bloomingdale’s vice president of cosmetics and fragrances. “We feel that for many customers, the idea of these fragrances evokes the beauty and spirit of Italy.” Now that’s amore.
