A spokesman for the Giorgio Armani Fragrance and Beauty division of L’Oréal Luxe in France had “no comment” when asked about rumors swirling across the Internet that actress Cate Blanchett will be the face of Giorgio Armani’s next women’s fragrance. Blanchett’s personal publicist did not return calls for comment as of press time.
Blanchett and Armani have had a mutual admiration society going on for years. In October 2007, the designer made a large investment in the Sydney Theatre Company after Blanchett and her husband, Andrew Upton, were appointed co-artistic directors, and Blanchett is a front-row regular at Armani’s Privé shows in Paris. Blanchett is often photographed wearing Armani creations.
