Firmenich has named Bhavesh Shah its new group vice president and chief purchasing officer to the company’s Direction Générale.
In the role, Shah will be accountable for the group’s purchasing organization, ensuring its integration into Firmenich’s corporate strategy. Patrick Firmenich, chief executive officer, said, “as a member of the Direction Générale, Bhavesh will be instrumental in strengthening the group’s risk management, operational efficiency and innovation efforts in order to build value.” Shah, who is based in Singapore, has been with the company since 2011 and is credited with “transforming the scope and structure” of the Global Purchasing Organization and implementing stronger alliances among business divisions, clients and suppliers.
“Working closely with the businesses, I am committed to best positioning the company in today’s volatile and complex marketplace in order to best mitigate risk, pursue cost-effectiveness and innovate across the value chain by partnering with our suppliers and clients,” said Shah, who spent 19 years at Procter & Gamble Co. prior to joining Firmenich.
