On Friday morning, the top floor of the Mandarin Oriental was packed with fragrance industry executives for the Fragrance Foundation’s 2013 Finalists Breakfast.
At the event, hosted by actress Christine Baranski, finalists were narrowed down and prizes were awarded. Among the morning’s winners were Nest Fragrances for the Aerin Home Fragrance Collection, which was awarded Interior Scent Collection of the Year and Crabtree and Evelyn for its West Indian Lime collection, which won Bath and Body Line of the Year. Editorial awards were also given out, including elle.com for Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage and Allure for best Scent Bite and Scent Feature. Additionally, fragrance sales specialist Caroline Hallereau-Williams of Dior at Dillard’s was recognized for achieving the top score on this past year’s certification exam. At the conclusion of the breakfast, Fragrance Foundation president Elizabeth Musmanno announced, to a cheering audience, that comedian Dana Carvey would emcee the Fragrance Foundation Awards, which will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

Born Barbara Pierce in New York City, Bush served as the 37th first lady, as well as the country’s second lady from 1981 to 1989. In addition to being part of the longest presidential marriage — 73 years — Bush also had the unlikely distinction of having one son, George W., become the 43rd president and another son, Jeb, run unsuccessfully in 2016. Having served as second lady during the Reagan administration’s two terms and lived all over the world during her own husband’s ascending political career, Barbara Bush made it clear that literacy — not fashion — was her priority. @denimdaysfestival, which initially launched in Amsterdam in 2014 and has since expanded to New York, is heading to Nashville for the very first time.
