On Friday morning, the top floor of the Mandarin Oriental was packed with fragrance industry executives for the Fragrance Foundation’s 2013 Finalists Breakfast.
At the event, hosted by actress Christine Baranski, finalists were narrowed down and prizes were awarded. Among the morning’s winners were Nest Fragrances for the Aerin Home Fragrance Collection, which was awarded Interior Scent Collection of the Year and Crabtree and Evelyn for its West Indian Lime collection, which won Bath and Body Line of the Year. Editorial awards were also given out, including elle.com for Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage and Allure for best Scent Bite and Scent Feature. Additionally, fragrance sales specialist Caroline Hallereau-Williams of Dior at Dillard’s was recognized for achieving the top score on this past year’s certification exam. At the conclusion of the breakfast, Fragrance Foundation president Elizabeth Musmanno announced, to a cheering audience, that comedian Dana Carvey would emcee the Fragrance Foundation Awards, which will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall.

Azzedine Alaïa, one of the most iconic couturiers of the modern era whose body-con designs defined Eighties fashion, has died in Paris.
