PARIS — Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian received the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres medal, given by France’s minister of culture, on Friday. The perfumer, who works solo as well as with Takasago, was the nose behind scents such as Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Mâle, Lanvin’s Rumeur and Lancôme’s Miracle Homme. He also plans to open his own perfume house in September.
