PARIS — A throng of beauty industry executives gathered for France’s FiFi Awards 2014 on Thursday night, held at the Salle Wagram here during a sit-down dinner.
They marked the 22nd year that the Fragrance Foundation France hosted the event.
The big winners of the evening were Paco Rabanne’s Invictus and Hermès’ Jour d’Hermès. Each was voted by industry professionals as the best selective fragrance in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
In the best selective fragrance category, voted on by the public, Paco Rabanne's 1 Million Intense won for men and Christian Dior’s J’adore Voile de Parfum won for women.
By specific category, the other prizes went to:
• Invictus and Sì d’Armani by Giorgio Armani for best men’s and women’s fragrance advertising campaigns in selective distribution;
• Invictus and Jour d’Hermès for best men’s and women’s bottle designs in selective distribution;
• David Beckham’s Urban Homme and Playboy’s Super Playboy for best men’s and women’s fragrances in mass-market distribution;
• Yves Rocher’s Ambre Noir and Néroli Secrets d’essences for best men’s and women’s fragrances sold in a brand’s own stores.
Another jury, made up of industry “experts,” awarded Black from Comme des Garçons in the niche perfumery category. It recognized Tom Ford’s Tobacco Oud as the best fragrance from a big brand’s collection.
Guests at the FiFi awards dinner voted on the top “mythical” fragrances, which had to be at least 20 years old and still rank among the top 30 scents in France’s selective perfumery channel. Guerlain’s Habit Rouge, from 1965, won for men, while Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium, from 1977, was granted the top prize for women.
“These collections continue to build on that vision, empowering differently abled adults to express themselves through fashion,” said @tommyhilfiger of his line of adaptive apparel, which launches today. The line consists of 37 men’s and 34 women’s styles based upon the pieces from the spring Tommy Hilfiger sportswear collection. #wwdnews

Amid the Harvey Weinstein controversy, there’s another sector that’s being put under the spotlight for sexual abuse: the modeling industry.
