Accademia del Profumo Partners with Italian Vogue

The annual perfume awards ceremony will be held in May in Milan rather than Bologna, where it had been for many years.

MILAN — Italy’s Accademia del Profumo is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and partnering with Italian Vogue to promote its annual perfume awards ceremony, which will be held in May in Milan rather than Bologna, where it had been for many years.

“Reaching this milestone alongside Vogue Italia, a prestigious and authoritative fashion and lifestyle magazine, makes us proud of the path we have taken to give value to perfume, a product that is always well-appreciated and considered an indispensable treat for women and men alike,” said Luciano Bertinelli, president of the Accademia del Profumo and chief executive officer of Ferragamo Parfums.

From Monday through April 7, consumers can vote on their favorite fragrances on the Accademia del Profumo’s Facebook page, at select Italian perfumeries and at the Cosmoprof Worldwide beauty fair in Bologna, which will take place from April 4-7. Women’s fragrances in the running for the best perfume of the year award include P&G Prestige’s Boss Nuit pour femme and Gucci Guilty Black, as well as LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton’s Fendi scent L’Acquarossa and Pomellato Nudo Amber by ITF. Men’s candidates include Bulgari Man Extreme and Paco Rabanne Invictus, among others.

Last March, Italian Vogue and Cosmoprof’s parent organization, BolognaFiere, teamed up on a special shopping event called Beauty in Vogue Night Cosmoprof, during which shoppers made beauty purchases while raising funds for victims of the earthquakes that had affected the area surrounding the city.
