Simon Doonan unveils the Duane Reade Nexxus window installation, made exclusively out of 3,200 product bottles.

Those looking to snag a seat at the 67th Tony Awards this Sunday can swing by Times Square red-carpet ready on Sunday — and may just walk away with tickets.

The contest, being held by Tony beauty sponsor Nexxus, will offer one winner and a guest show and after party tickets, as well as a red carpet makeover with hair styling by Nexxus creative director Kevin Mancuso.

Those looking to be considered must arrive at Duffy Square between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, in a suit or cocktail dress to be photographed on a satellite red carpet in Times Square. The winner will be announced at 5 p.m., and both will be taken to a nearby hotel suite for makeup and hair styling, then driven by limo to Radio City Music Hall. Upon arrival, the winners will be photographed across the street from the event. in front of Duane Reade’s Nexxus window, designed by Simon Doonan.

In addition, for the fifth year in a row, the Tony Awards will be broadcast live in Times Square in partnership with the Times Square Alliance, Clear Channel Spectacolor and NY1, on two of Clear Channel’s Spectacolor HD screens from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

 

“This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with performances, surprise appearances, interactive activities and much, much more,” said Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of The Broadway League. “There is nothing like celebrating Broadway’s most spectacular night, with Broadway’s biggest fans, right in the heart of Times Square — it’s the next best thing to being at Radio City Music Hall.”

During the Tony Awards broadcast, fans in Times Square will be treated to a Nexxus trivia contest, with product-filled gift baskets given as prizes. A Broadway-inspired limited-edition tote, free at any Duane Reade with a $20 Nexxus purchase, will be available through June 29.
