DALLAS — Winding up a four-city, three-nation tour promoting her new namesake cosmetics collection, Aerin Lauder has found that her peripatetic lifestyle is not unlike that of her customers. “Women are on the go and they want something easy,” said Lauder, explaining that Multi Color for Lips and Cheeks, a $42 single pan compact, and a $148 set of travel brushes have been her bestsellers. “People want something pretty and modern and easy.”
The beauty heiress is currently designing palettes for Aerin fall and holiday 2013 cosmetics — color stories that will be consistent across all licenses in her mushrooming lifestyle brand, including furniture, fabric and shoes, she said.
“It’s lots of blues and rose colors and in holiday a lot of browns and beiges,” Lauder said. “It’s very much a focused, cohesive story.”
Lauder recently announced Jimlar as her shoe licensee and is negotiating a jewelry deal. But don’t look for Aerin brand ready-to-wear any time soon.
“I love clothing,” said Lauder, who was wearing a cream Valentino dress. “But my passion is really home and beauty and accessories, so I have a lot keeping me busy.”
