Catia Cesari will join Coty Inc. as senior vice president of business development, mergers and acquisitions, effective Feb. 1.
She will serve on the company’s executive committee and report to both Coty chief executive officer Michele Scannavini and chief financial officer Patrice de Talhouët. She joins Coty from Labelux Group, where she served as chief mergers and acquisitions and human capital officer. In that role, she oversaw acquisitions and restructuring of fashion brands such as Jimmy Choo, Bally and Belstaff. She also held posts at Gucci Group, where she worked on the acquisition of brands such as Bottega Veneta and Boucheron. She began her career at KPMG, followed by a decade at General Electric. She is fluent in Italian, English and Spanish and will be located in Geneva, Switzerland as part of her role. She succeeds Peter Shaefer, who will lead special cross-functional projects at Coty and report to Scannavini.
