Guillaume de Lesquen has been named president, worldwide, of the Ralph Lauren Fragrances Division of L’Oréal.

De Lesquen is based in Lauren Fragrance headquarters in New York as part of L’Oréal USA, but he reports to Marc Menesquen, president of the Luxury Products Division of the parent L’Oréal SA in Paris. The new Lauren president succeeds Signe Gammeltoft, who was re-assigned last December after 18 months in the job.
“I am convinced that Guillaume’s extensive talent and experience will enable him to lead the Ralph Lauren brand towards success, both in the U.S. and worldwide,” said Menesquen.
De Lesquen has been with L’Oréal for 21 years following a stint running his own fashion event firm and serving two years in the navy. He joined the company in 1987 and spent 13 years in the L’Oréal Consumer Products Division, where he launched fragrances under the Naf Naf, Kookai, Daniel Hechter and Harley Davidson banners. He then became the marketing director of Gemey, the dominant mass market color cosmetics brand in France, where he launched the hit mascara, Volume Express. He then moved on to the post of marketing director of L’Oréal Paris, where he helped recruit the “dream team” of models, which included Claudia Schiffer and Laetitia Casta. He first moved to Brazil before shifting into the luxury division in 2000 as president Worldwide of Giorgio Armani Parfums, then deputy president worldwide of Lancôme in 2002 and president Worldwide of Biotherm in 2005 before finally coming to Ralph Lauren earlier this year on a strategic mission.
