Trottier, who has been vice president and general manager, EMEA and U.K. for MAC Cosmetics since 2007, will join the Jo Malone London brand on July 1.
“Jean-Guillaume has been an integral part of the evolution of MAC Cosmetics in the EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] and U.K. regions,” said John Demsey, group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. “Over the past eight years, he has built an outstanding team and transformed the brand’s fashion presence and distribution network.” Demsey credited Trottier with leading the MAC Cosmetics brand to a first-place showing in the majority of emerging markets and sustaining double-digit door growth in mature markets, he said.
Trottier joined MAC Cosmetics in 2004 as a brand manager in France. Before joining MAC Cosmetics, he worked for L’Oréal SA from 2000 to 2003, first as image manager for Shu Uemura and Kiehl’s Europe, then as group product manager for Lancôme International.
“Jean-Guillaume will be based with the Jo Malone brand team in London, and will be directly responsible for driving the business globally,” said Maureen Case, president, specialty brands for the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc., to whom Trottier will report. “In his new role, he will focus on the brand’s unique positioning continuing the brand’s evolution, celebrating British heritage and taking the brand vision forward in a dynamic and authentic way.”
The brand, acquired by Lauder in 1999, is now carried in 28 countries.
