LONDON — La Prairie handed out three awards for environmental endeavors in London earlier this month — with help from Prince Albert of Monaco.
During an event at the Science Museum here, the Swiss beauty brand and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation handed its grand prize to the Monk Seal Conservation Project, which aims to save endangered animals in the Mediterranean Sea. The prize is worth $100,000.
The Kalabla Marine Conservation Education Program received $20,000 while the Toliara Reef Complex Project was awarded $10,000.
“Our ambition is to continue into this sustainability. Our ambition is to make progress there. We need to take the steps to make sure we are producing and developing products in a sustainable way,” said Patrick Rasquinet, president and chief executive officer of La Prairie Group. “So it is step-by-step progress in this direction. And we just want to make sure that we go ahead and we hope we can continue to support the foundation.”
Rasquinet’s future plans include looking to use recyclable material, ingredients that are eco-friendly and animal-free testing.
