Maggie Ciafardini is leaving her post as managing director for North America of PZ Cussons Beauty at the end of this week.
Her position has been eliminated in the wake of a restructuring. Ciafardini’s departure comes on the heels of Michelle Feeney stepping down as chief executive officer of the U.K.-based company in February.
“Establishing St. Tropez in the Americas has been an amazing experience,” said Ciafardini. “Self-tanning is a very niche category, and it was fun to explode it.”
In addition to St. Tropez, PZ Cussons’ brands include the hair-care ranges Charles Worthington and Fudge, and the skin-care line Sanctuary Spa.
Ciafardini, a well-respected beauty veteran who was ceo and general manager of YSL Beauty USA before joining Cussons, has no plans to leave the industry permanently, though. When asked what’s next, she said, “Stay tuned.”
