Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s executive vice president and artistic director, will transition to a consultant role effective July 1.
Weiss-Fischmann, who helped found the nail-care company, called the moment bittersweet. “It feels like I’ve sold the company for the second time,” she said Friday afternoon.
Beauty giant Coty acquired the company in 2010 and founder George Schaeffer, with whom Weiss-Fischmann worked from the beginning of the company, stepped down in 2013.
“I owe everything to this country,” said Weiss-Fischmann, a Hungarian immigrant. “It gave me the opportunity to help build a major beauty brand and to empower women all over the world.”
In her new role, Weiss-Fischmann is expected to consult on color collections and to serve as a global brand ambassador for the brand.
