After a holiday season filled with blaring metallics, spring’s cooler color palette of milky pink, blue, green and yellow hues is a welcome reprieve. This year’s launches include cream eye shadows in chalky shades from Givenchy, a Guerlain illuminating compact comprised of airy micro pearls and Yves Saint Laurent’s Gypsy Opale, a correcting palette anchored in soft yellow and light lilac. “Colors with a white-based tone feel especially cloudy and light,” says Yves Saint Laurent Beauté creative director of makeup Lloyd Simmonds. “That’s all anyone wants for spring, anyway.”
