Water is one of this summer’s most popular ingredients, as product formulators create ever more ingenuous ways to deliver a healthy boost of moisturization to the skin. Says dermatologist and president of Amarte, Craig Kraffert, “Water is — by definition — the only substance that hydrates skin.” To that end, the products in Amarte’s new Aqua line contain from 75 to 90 percent water. “Improvements in formulation have allowed for higher water content moisturizers,” said Kraffert. “These provide more hydration than even heavier, oilier products could in the past.”
