Thirty years after cult favorite “Jem and the Holograms” premiered on TV, it’s headed onto the silver screen on Oct. 23 — with a host of products supporting the launch, including two beauty lines. Sephora is planning a four-piece set — eye-shadow palette, liquid lip set, fluorescent lipstick and compact, while Manic Panic will release four semipermanent hair dyes inspired by each member of the fictional band. The products are designed to pay homage to the distinctive hair colors that each character sported.

“Along with the fun fashion and awesome music, the notion of being true to yourself has always been at the heart of the ‘Jem and the Holograms’ story,” said Simon Waters, general manager, and senior vice president of entertainment and licensing for Hasbro. “That theme is just as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.”
