Bryan Meehan is all about keeping it natural. The founder of Fresh & Wild (a U.K. chain of organic grocery stores), he’s now bringing his expertise to America as creator of Nude, an all-natural skin care line.

How did you go from organic grocer to skin care entrepreneur?
I realized that while my customers were going out of their way to purchase organic and natural foods, they continued to buy conventional skin care. I saw a great opportunity to create a natural yet contemporary line that can be competitive in areas of concern, such as antiaging.

What’s the difference between Nude and other organic or natural lines?
When it comes to organic lines, there are so many restrictions in place because the organic boards regulate and limit what you can use, in order to maintain qualifications. Instead, Nude products are biocompatible, which means the ingredients work with the skin’s natural biology. We do use some organic extracts, but are more focused on finding the most high-quality ingredients possible and advancements that help with skin health and fighting the signs of aging.

Can natural products be reparative as well as preventative?
By using natural but high-performance ingredients, I definitely think so. Our products contain things like milk proteins to stimulate collagen, antioxidants and vitamins to fight free radicals and pre- and probiotics that help with cell turnover and strengthen the skin’s barrier.

What’s the star product of the line?
The Advanced Smoothing Complex serum. There are natural peptides to stimulate collagen and hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture, plus antioxidants and pre- and probiotics.

What’s next in the natural skin care field?
We have a challenge to show that we can provide performance without compromise. We have to focus on giving women the confidence that it works.
