Neiman’s Seeks NorthPark Tenants in Dallas

Neiman Marcus is looking for new tenants for the lower level of its store at NorthPark Center in Dallas.

Neiman Marcus is looking for new tenants for the lower level of its store at NorthPark Center in Dallas where Richard Hayler Colour Salon closed last week and an Estée Lauder Spa vacated in November.

“We are actively looking at all options and entertaining new ideas,” said Ginger Reeder, vice president at Neiman Marcus Inc.

The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. began opening spas in the early Nineties in department stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Marshall Field’s and Holt Renfrew. The 4,000-square-foot unit at Neiman’s NorthPark, which originally opened in 1994, was one of the largest.

Lauder, which had at least 10 spas at its peak, operates one spa — a stand-alone unit at the Americana Manhasset shopping center on Long Island.

“Since 2000, Estée Lauder has strategically transitioned out of most of our spa business as it was determined that the spa business was not a core business priority for the brand,” said a Lauder spokeswoman.

Richard Hayler, a British color specialist with a loyal following, attributed the demise of his 4,500-square-foot salon to poor money management. “I crashed the bus,” he said. Hayler is now working at Dear Clark, a Dallas salon.
