Shopper: Ann Robideaux

40-year-old bride-to-be Ann Robideaux stopped into Origins for a makeup consultation for her upcoming nuptials in the Catskills. “I was looking for natural cosmetics and my friend recommended the manager as a stylist,” says Robideaux. A choreographer for contemporary and commercial dance, Robideaux opts for a natural regimen and little makeup unless she’s going out at night or performing on stage. “I wash my face, moisturize, apply sun block and leave,” she says. “I like to buy products from natural spas and really enjoy skin care products from Dr. Hauschka.” Today, Robideaux appreciated the fast and efficient service from the store’s manager. “I don’t like being pressured to buy stuff and being asked a ton of questions,” says Robideaux. “I have to answer to people a lot and I’d rather shop on my own.” Luckily, she won’t have to answer to too much in terms of her wedding since her fiancé is in charge of the planning and she’s arranging the honeymoon.
What’s in Lisa’s Bag
Shopper: Lisa Kaczynski
Date/Time: 5.11.2012, 2:03 p.m.
Location: 172 Nassau Street
It’s not every day one meets a person who jumps over fire and crawls under barbed wire. But Lisa Kaczynski, 38, whose day job is lab supervisor for a pediatric practice, is a devoted obstacle-course competitor in her spare time. Citing convenience and price, Kaczynski stopped in to CVS for a couple of necessities before a big night out. “I’m going on a first date with an old friend from high school, so I needed to refill a couple of products I use daily,” says Kaczynski. She has participated in 18 Spartan obstacle series races this past year. “It’s really important that I take care of my skin since I am competing outside,” she says. “I wash my face every morning and I use Olay Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 for my face. For my body I use Coppertone Sport Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30, Ultra Sweat-proof. Also, since tan lines are inevitable, I use Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer in the strap areas on my shoulders to help even it out.”
