NATURAL BEAUTY: Physicians Formula may soon have more competition in the natural cosmetics segment as Del Laboratories (now owned by Coty Inc.) rolls out Natural Beauty and Lavera, a German line, seeks to grab more retail distribution. Longs Drugs is testing the Lavera cosmetics collection, as well as its skin and sun care items.

LICENSING CLEANS UP: Tinkerbell will be flying on more products this year as will superheroes such as Iron Man from MZB. There were many whimsical bath items for kids on display, including light-up toppers from Cosrich featuring licenses like Thomas the Tank Engine.

BLOT AND BLUSH: Pantina, known for cosmetics palettes (or books), has a new portable kit complete with blotting papers and blush called the Blot and Glow Book.

TRAVELING BED HEAD: Bed Head TIGI has licensed the Bed Head logo for a funky line of travel and cosmetics bags.

BEST BOUTIQUE: A new exhibitor — which retailers dubbed the best decorated room of the ECRM show — was Brand Boutique. The company highlighted several impulse items such as Mint 2 Kiss, a double-ended lip product with mints on one end and lip product on the other.
