PARIS — Chanel and Dassault Systèmes, which specializes in three-dimensional and Product Lifecycle Management software, announced Tuesday they have signed a strategic partnership agreement for scientific innovation.

“The partnership was born out of the companies’ mutual desire to harness the power of the virtual world in order to bring improvements to our everyday lives, as well as expand the frontiers of innovation,” the firms jointly stated.

The first project done with Chanel Research and Technology and Dassault Sytèmes Design Studio, which is based on the analysis of light, will be finished in 2010.

“Other opportunities are also being explored, with an emphasis on virtual simulation and modeling that will pave the way for innovative breakthroughs in skin biology and cosmetics,” the companies stated.
