Darphin’s invitations called Thursday afternoon a jet-setter luncheon and its cohostess’ upcoming scheduled lived up to every definition of the word.“I start traveling on Sunday, which I’m kind of sad about because it’s Mother’s Day, but I am going to London for a secret project that I can’t reveal and then to the Cannes Film Festival right afterwards and then to Rome for another project,” said beauty and fashion blogger Chriselle Lim of her upcoming travel schedule. She later that evening made the trek to Calabasas for the Dior cruise 2018 runway show after just the night before attending the fashion’s house’s welcome dinner at Gladstones in Malibu.Lim was on hand Thursday at Ladurée in Beverly Hills to help Darphin host its lunch, an intimate gathering at the back of the house for a group of friends to help mark the beauty brand's first event on the West Coast.The two projects Lim cited in London and Rome will eventually be revealed later this year, she said. The influencer is also in the midst of preparing for the relaunch next week of The Chriselle Factor’s e-mailer, which she said will feature exclusive and more curated content, including skin-care tips from her mother.Lim, a fan of Darphin and its 8-Flower Nectar Oil for several years, said she stumbled upon the line at a spa while traveling in South Korea well before she ever brushed shoulders with executives at an event for Estée Lauder Companies, which acquired Darphin in 2003.The pairing of two French brands — Darphin and Ladurée — made sense as did the beauty brand’s partnering with Lim on the lunch, said Ali Wente, Darphin vice president of North America.“We’re very small and sweet and so we’ve done a few New York, beautiful events but I really wanted to come West and Chriselle was the perfect partner to do it with," Wente said.
