Formulas are six times more effective than those of competitors due to its proprietary accelerator, NIA-114, according to StriVectin, which operates under Chrysallis, the management arm of parent Catterton Partners. Get Even, which will roll out to stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Sephora and Ulta in January, consists of Brightening Serum and Spot Repair to slow down the production of melanin, normalize the transfer of pigment and increase cell turnover.
The serum is described as “highly potent” and “quick absorbing,” meant for all over the face to target mild to moderate age spots, sun spots and dark spots. Spot Repair is packaged in a twist pen applicator to pinpoint dark, stubborn spots.
In 12-week, independent, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trials against other brightening products, StriVectin-EV was proven to be six times more effective in four weeks versus competitors. In addition to NIA-114, products include natural tyrosinase inhibitors, willow bark extract, vitamin C, sugar beet and pomegranate extract.
Items will retail for $49 for the Get Even Spot Repair and $89 for the Get Even Brightening Serum at QVC and online, in addition to stores.
According to StriVectin, which consists of about a dozen products targeting skin concerns including stretch marks, tightening and sensitive skin, the brand experienced a 25 percent increase in sales in 2011 over last year, which were estimated at $100 million globally. StriVectin is ranked as the sixth best-selling skin care brand in Sephora SA, as well as the number-one selling exclusive skin care brand across Europe, and ranks as The NPD Group’s leading neck cream in prestige.
