1. Seminar Star

Maria Bello, an activist and actress whose films include “A History of Violence,” “Grown Ups” and “Flicka,” will be among the panelists discussing what the fashion industry is doing to help save the environment and improve the lives of the world’s apparel workers. The presentation, titled “People and Planet: Sustainability Out of the Box,” will be held Feb. 14 at 11:45 a.m. in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall, Room S230. Panelists joining Bello are Marci Zaroff, founder of the green clothing line Under the Canopy; Deborah Palmer Keiser, executive vice president of global supply chain for retailer Williams-Sonoma; Joseph Blumberg, director of sales and merchandising for apparel producer Grupo M, and Richard Sanford, chairman and founder of Operation Warm, a nonprofit provider of coats to underprivileged children.

2. Blogger Bonanza

WWDMagic is tapping into the power of the blog with a new interactive program featuring 30 fashion bloggers. On the roster are Jane Aldridge from the Kanye West-approved Web site Sea of Shoes, DIY doyenne Erica Domesek from P.S. I Made This and L.A. style scribe Erin Weinger from Style Section L.A., and others.

Using the Teen Vogue blogger lounge located on the main concourse in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Central Hall as their base of operations, the bloggers will report live from the show floor. When they’re not making videos and scoping trends, they’ll share advice on how to build careers, make DIY crafts and style looks from clothes provided by brands such as Free People, French Connection, Levi’s and Jessica Simpson. They’ll all compete to become the official WWDMagic blogger correspondent at the upcoming August show.
