Asos.com has appointed Hilary Riva and Rita Clifton as non-executive directors, the ecommerce firm said Thursday, with both appointments effective April 1.

Riva, 56, is currently a non-executive director of the London property company Shaftesbury plc, and of London & Partners, the city’s official promotional organization. She has an extensive background in the fashion industry, having served as the chief executive of the British Fashion Council from 2005 through 2009, a pro bono role which saw her head the organization of London Fashion Week. She served as managing director of Rubicon Retail from 2001 through 2005, after jointly leading a management buyout of its brands from Arcadia Group in 2001. Before that, Riva was on the management board of Arcadia Group. 

Clifton, also 56, is currently chairman of Brandcap, a London-based strategic brand consultancy ,and Populus, a London-based research and strategy consultancy. She joined global brand consultancy Interbrand as London ceo in 1997 and became chairman of the firm in 2002, a role she held through 2012.
