NEW ROLE AT BURBERRY: Sarah Manley has been named Burberry’s senior vice president of marketing and communications. Manley, who has worked for Burberry for more than seven years, most recently was senior vice president, global public relations and communications. Her new role follows the departure of Leslie Dance, who was senior vice president, global marketing. Manley’s appointment, effective immediately, will include overseeing all commercial aspects of global marketing, advertising, fashion and business public relations, along with the company’s events and internal communication. She will report to chief executive officer Angela Ahrendts.
HAMPSHIRE ASSET SALE: Hampshire Group said it has sold certain assets of its Shane Hunter subsidiary, including inventory, trademarks and other assets, for $3.7 million to a buyer that includes a former member of Shane Hunter management. The transaction is subject to customary post-closing adjustments. Hampshire will retain the remaining assets of Shane Hunter, including about $14 million in accounts receivable as of Monday. The company said the funds from the sale will be used for operations and other general corporate purposes.

Etro’s show, titled “The Tree of Life,” was a celebration of the house’s 50th anniversary. “My father founded the company in 1968, which was the year of counterculture and psychedelia.
