MILAN— Maserati and the Ermenegildo Zegna Group have signed a three-year agreement that will give rise to the limited edition Maserati Quattroporte by Ermenegildo Zegna.
Only 100 models of the luxury car will be produced, and customers will have access to a variety of tailor-made Zegna accessories for their vehicles. New colors, materials and trims from the Lanificio Zegna wool mill in Trivero, northwestern Italy, will be available in honor of Maserati’s upcoming centennial celebrations in 2014.
A prototype of the new car will be unveiled at an upcoming international auto show, according to a statement from the companies.
By 2015, customers will be able to outfit any Maserati model with a selection of Zegna trims, and by 2016, a special service will allow Maserati buyers exclusive access to certain colors and materials from Zegna.
“The partnership between Maserati and Ermenegildo Zegna Group is the meeting point of two leading companies representing pioneering Italian design and manufacturing,” said Sergio Marchionne, chief executive officer of Fiat Chrysler Group and president of Maserati.
“Both companies have a centenary industrial tradition and are renowned worldwide as ambassadors of Italian excellence,” added Gildo Zegna, ceo of Ermenegildo Zegna Group. “I am confident that by this renewed collaboration, both brands will be able to combine tailored attention to details with cutting-edge technology, leading to the creation of a new world of style and elegance.”
Maserati, founded in Bologna in 1914, has been part of the Fiat Group since 2005, and is present in over 60 countries worldwide. The Ermenegildo Zegna Group, which opened near the Biella Alps in 1910, currently operates 557 luxury men’s wear stores across 87 countries, of which 311 are company-owned.

Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said. Each piece is hand made in New York, either by Prounis or three other jewelers in the district. #wwdfashion
