PARIS — French luxury shoemaker Robert Clergerie has appointed Eva Taub as chief executive officer to spearhead the relaunch of the brand and its international development, it announced on Monday.
Taub previously headed the leather division at Christian Dior Couture, where she was in charge of the design, product development, merchandising, marketing, sales and supply chain for handbags, small leather goods and shoes for men and women.
Prior to that, she launched the Isotoner brand in Europe and worked in New York and Hong Kong as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch. Taub graduated from Stanford University and has an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Fung Capital and fashion veteran Jean-Marc Loubier teamed up to acquire a majority stake in Clergerie from its namesake founder in April 2011. RC Holdings — a new entity held by Fung Brands Ltd., a subsidiary of Fung Capital Ltd., and Loubier — took a 90 percent stake in Financière de Romans, which owns the Clergerie, Fenestrier and Espace brands, with the founder maintaining 10 percent.
Clergerie last year tapped Roland Mouret as creative director as part of its renewal plan. The company has 20 freestanding stores in France, the U.K., Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and the U.S., and it sees significant expansion potential in Europe, the U.S. and Asia.
“I was touched by the fact that she lost her father, really before his time, and it was a real shock. She had two young children, she was married and she was expecting that she would have her own life for a good 25 years,” said Claire Foy about playing a young Queen Elizabeth in Netflix’s The Crown. “It transcends the genre that is you think of a sci-fi show — you don’t expect it to be so profound or emotionally riveting,” Evan Rachel Wood told WWD of her Emmy nominated role in Westworld. styled by @samanthamcmillen_stylist 📸 @emmanmontalvan #emmys2017 #wwdeye
