American Eagle Outfitters Inc. said Wednesday that it had entered into a multiyear franchise agreement with Fox-Wizel Ltd. that will result in the opening of American Eagle and aerie stores in Israel beginning in spring 2012. The move follows the recent introduction of the American Eagle brand in Dubai and Kuwait and the Pittsburgh-based teen retailer’s recent disclosure of plans to open stores in Hong Kong and China in early 2011. Fox-Wizel operates 170 Fox stores in its home market of Israel and another 250 in other markets. The arrangement with Fox-Wizel is similar to the one fashioned with Dickson Concepts (International) Ltd., which is bringing the American brand to Hong Kong and China through a franchising arrangement.
