NEW YORK - Peter Boneparth, president and chief executive officer of Jones Apparel Group, has resigned his post.
He will be replaced by Wesley R. Card, the company's chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
In addition, Jones named John T. McClain, chief financial officer. Most recently, he was chief accounting officer of Avis Budget Group Inc.
Jones said its board and Boneparth agreed this was a good time to transition the leadership of the company, in light of the pending sale of Barneys New York and its decision to exit or sell some of the moderate sportswear businesses.
